Meet Penelope!

Breed: Shepherd X

Age: 1 year old

Sex: Male neutered

Wylie is a beautiful and sweet boy, but don’t let his looks and personality fool you, he still has a lot of puppy energy and needs calm and consistent leadership to help teach him how to be the best boy.

Wylie bonds very quickly with whoever is caring for him, but needs time to warm up to strangers. He will require continued guidance around interactions with all humans, including children. Wylie is currently in a foster home with two young children and although he is doing great with them, he was provided a slow intro to warm up to them and interactions are monitored by foster mom. Wylie would do best in a home where children are old enough to respect his space and will not flood him with affectionate before establishing trust.

Wylie will be off leash trained and have a great foundation to get him started with his forever home.

His ideal home will prioritize true fulfillment with  off leash freedom, continued exposure to new environments, ongoing promotion of confidence building and willingness to seek professional training as a means for bonding and developing WITH Wylie

Introducing Bella & Buddy!

A mother-and-son Shih Tzu pair, 12 and 11 years old.

Bella and Buddy are safe in our care, and since arriving, they have shown us just how incredibly sweet they are. They are affectionate, gentle, low-maintenance and simply want to spend their golden years together.

We are hoping to find them a quiet, calm and laid-back home where they can relax, feel loved and enjoy the time they have ahead of them.

What we are looking for is a compassionate placement. Someone who understands that Bella and Buddy are seniors and while they don’t have a decade of years ahead of them, they still deserve a loving home for their golden years.

There are some medical concerns with both dogs, which are highlighted in the video, and we are happy to discuss their medical history more in depth with potential adopters or fosters.

We are specifically looking for someone who understands that extensive medical testing and intervention will not be pursued through the rescue. Our priority is their comfort, happiness and quality of life.

To help make finding the right home easier, we will be waiving their adoption fee in hopes of keeping this sweet pair together.

We are seeking donations to help cover expenses from their vet visits thus far.

We have invested $1,000 into their care, including wellness examinations, bloodwork panels for both dogs, eye medications for Buddy and other necessary care. Every donation helps us continue saying yes to seniors like Bella and Buddy.

Meet Jasper!

Breed: Lab mix

Age: 9 months old

Sex: Male 

Jasper is a sweet, sensitive pup who is discovering that the world isn’t quite as scary as he once thought. His confidence is growing leaps and bounds!

When Jasper first arrived, he was shut down and unsure. Three weeks with his foster family have made a world of difference. He lives with three other dogs and has taken plenty of inspiration from their confidence. Having canine role models has helped him come out of his shell, and he’s absolutely crushing it on pack walks with both small and large groups of dogs.

Jasper is still shy with people at first, but give him a little time, patience, and space, and you’ll start to see his sweet personality emerge. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll happily seek you out for some much-appreciated butt scratches!

When Jasper feels overwhelmed, his instinct is to retreat and hide. One of the best ways to help him reset is to get moving. His foster mom has noticed a huge difference in him after a walk. He becomes more confident, curious, and ready to take on the world.

Because Jasper is still building his confidence, we’re looking for a family who is committed to continuing that journey with him. A confident canine companion would be a huge bonus and could help Jasper continue learning that being brave can be pretty rewarding.

Jasper’s got a few other tricks up his sleeve:

Crate champion: Jasper loves his crate and sees it as his safe space. He’s quiet overnight and even puts himself in his crate at mealtimes, patiently waiting for his food delivery. He only speaks up when he’s experiencing a serious case of FOMO!

Chew crew member: Jasper is still very much a puppy, which means soft, cuddly things can look suspiciously like chew toys. Blankets in his crate are best avoided for now, and he’ll need supervision when he’s loose in the house. The good news? He’s very easy to redirect onto an approved toy.

Potty pro: Jasper has been with his foster family for three weeks and hasn’t had a single accident! His foster mom works from home and makes sure he gets regular, appropriate potty breaks to set him up for success.

Jasper may need a little extra patience while he finds his confidence, but watching him blossom is incredibly rewarding. He’s curious, sweet, respectful, and ready to keep learning.

Meet Penelope!

Breed: Cattle dog mix

Age: 3 years old

Sex: Female - fixed

Penelope is incredibly adaptable, and has a wonderful mix of playful, affectionate, and outgoing qualities.

Penelope is amazing in her crate and a very quick learner who picks up new things easily. She’s currently learning the ropes of being a house dog, so she’s not quite fully house trained yet, but she’s making progress and will thrive with a patient family willing to continue showing her the way.

Like many cattle dogs, she’s a bit of a mouthy/nippy girl and is still learning appropriate ways to communicate and play. Her new family should be prepared to gently redirect this behavior as she settles in and learns her house manners.

Underneath that sassy cattle dog personality is an absolute cuddlebug! Penelope firmly believes she is a lap dog and would happily snuggle up with her people whenever given the chance.

She is very quiet, loves other dogs, and is always ready for her next adventure. Whether it’s heading out for a walk, exploring somewhere new, or curling up beside her favorite person, she’s happiest being part of the action.

She’s looking for someone who will appreciate her smart, quirky cattle dog personality, continue her training, and give her the patience and structure she needs to become the wonderful house dog she’s destined to be.
