Meet Heidi!
Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: 3 years old
Sex: Female -spayed
Heidi is a wonderfully lovely, happy-go-lucky, well-round little Shepherd mix all the way from Hawaii!
✅crate trained
✅house trained
✅travels well in car crate
✅young children
✅would LOVE a canine companion (or many)!
❌NO cats
Heidi is a very happy lady, and tends to form very quick connections with her people. She’s a big fan of kids, matching their energy perfectly, and seems to love the chaos that kids bring. Aside from her own direct family, she determined that any person she meets is just a pat away from being her best friend too! She is very similar when it comes to dogs. She is happy to make friends with just about any dog, and if they decide she’s “a little much,” she would really only try harder! For this reason, it would be best if she’s placed with another dog, that matches her energy well!
Heidi has been recently tested with cats and shows INTENSE curiosity, and although hasn’t been given the chance to prove what she might do next, we think our feline friends would thank us for choosing a cat-free home for her!
Heidi thrives on her routine, and does well when she has adequate activity (walks/hikes, play, training, etc), some structured down time (crate), and of course human connection! Watch out world, she’s a snuggler! Heidi is working on perfecting her house breaking as well, so a clear routine will help her with this as well!
Heidi does tend to be a jumper, and does pull a bit on leash (both of which are actively being worked on). Although she loves her people, the environment around her excites her too. This should be continued so that she can continue to enjoy off leash adventures!
Does Heidi sound like the perfect blend of happiness and chaos that you just can’t live without? Trust me, she feels the exact same way about you!

Meet Zeus!
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 5 years old
Sex: Male - neutered
Zeus is a special boy we’re introducing a little earlier than usual, as his foster family continues to support and work with him. We don’t expect the perfect home to come along overnight, but we believe in starting the search early for the right match.
Currently living in a multi-dog foster home, Zeus has shown he can coexist well in a structured environment. He may display some insecurity at times, especially in new or unfamiliar situations, but with consistency and guidance, he continues to make steady progress. He has proven he can coexist with small dogs and been appropriate with large dogs, though he has shown some discomfort around extra-large, intact males.
In the home, Zeus has been non destructive and can be trusted when left confined to one room.
Where Zeus needs the most support: when first introduced to new people he can be fearful. When he first arrived to care he would hid on his bed and low growl. He would prefer to keep to himself. We are not sure if uprooted again if he would present similar. It took him about a week to come around and minimal contact forced on him. Because of this, he will need a home that understands the importance of allowing him the time and space to decompress at his own pace, without pressure. Without the pitying. He needs someone who will respect his cues and let him ‘just be’ to learn you aren’t going to force interaction he isn’t comfortable with.
Zeus would do best in a calm, adult-only home. Ideally, his future family would include a small, stable dog companion to help build his confidence. He will need an adopter who understands that he’s still a work in progress, someone who is patient, committed, and open to working with a trainer (which will be provided if needed).
At this time, applicants must be located within the Ottawa area.
Zeus isn’t looking for just any home he’s looking for the right one and we are here to help him find that

Meet Bunny!

• Neutral to people, dogs, and distractions unless given permission to “go say hi”
• Crate trained and quiet
• Does great with handling and nail trims
• Walks great on leash
• Enjoys love but can also be independent
• Learning to hold a distance down off-leash

Meet Jake!
Breed: Black lab
Age: 10 years old
Sex: Male
Jake is a 10‑year‑old Lab mix with a gentle soul and a constantly wagging tail. He came into rescue through no fault of his own and knows nothing but love. He’s an easygoing guy who loves napping, leisurely walks. Jake is working on his leash manners and prefers some freedom to smell the roses along the way. He's people and dog friendly and previously lived with a cat, and may be able to again with slow introductions.
Jake would thrive in a low‑energy, detached home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort. He has some separation anxiety that has improved, but he’s non‑destructive and does well when left loose in the house. If you're home, he will sure to be right by your side.
He’s currently on Apoquel for symptoms of itching and fur loss which have resolved. We've changed his food and he may be able to stop taking Apoquel in the future with support from a veterinarian.
Jake has lived some big changes in the last few weeks and with time, love and patience, he is settling in and proving to be a sweet, gentle, and loving companion. He's looking for a family that has the patience to continue supporting him through these changes and show him the love he deserves in his golden years.

Meet Tapper!
Breed: Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix
Age: 10 months
Sex: Male
The name Tapper comes from his gait, that sweet, awkward little rhythm that makes his feet go tap tap, tap tap as he moves. It’s as if he’s lightly drumming the floor with determination and joy.
We don’t know whether his neurological difference is something he was born with or something he acquired due to injury. What we do know is this: he has been seen by a veterinarian.
Bloodwork has been completed and came back within normal limits. We do not believe he is in pain. He urinates and defecates on his own. He has a healthy appetite, though he does need to gain some weight.
Because he appears comfortable and stable, we will not be pursuing advanced diagnostics such as CT or MRI. Budget is certainly a factor — but more importantly, additional imaging would not necessarily change his condition or our approach.
Our focus is on what matters most: his happiness, his comfort, and his quality of life.
Tapper would thrive in a home that understands his needs. *One that doesn’t pity him, but instead sees him for who he truly is: a curious, bright little soul with a few physical limitations.*
He would love nothing more than to join adventures tucked safely in a bag, while also tap-tap-tapping his way around the house. Stairs and jumping are not for him, but flat ground? That’s his runway.
He is not house-trained at this time. He currently lives with both small and large dogs and does well. We anticipate no issues with cats.
Because he is fragile, an adult-only home would be ideal.
He has received his initial vaccines.
Some dogs need saving.
Some dogs need fixing.
Tapper needs someone who sees him, not as a limitation, but as a life worth loving.

Meet Freya!
Breed: Cattle Dog
Age: 6 years old
Sex: Female - spayed
✅Crate Trained
✅House Trained
✅Car Rides and Walking on Leash
✅Other Dogs (confident dogs preferred)
❓Cats (untested)
❌Young Kids (dog savvy kids 10+)
This lovely girl is the perfect blend of sweetness, playfulness, charm, and a little spice. It doesn’t take long for her warm and friendly personality to shine through. Give her a bit of time and patience, and you’ll quickly discover a loyal companion who loves being around her people.
Freya is an active dog with plenty of energy, making her a great match for someone who enjoys walks, playtime, or outdoor adventures. That said, she also has a wonderful “off switch” — when it’s time to relax, she settles down beautifully and is happy to just hang out.
Freya does have an allergy to chicken, but it’s easily managed by feeding a chicken-free diet. In typical cattle dog fashion, when she gets excited she can get a bit pushy and nippy, but she’s a quick learner and we’re working on fine tuning those manners while in foster care. She knows most basic commands (sit, down, stay, paw, roll), has a nice recall, and is a good listener.
This girl is a total sweetheart! She makes friends easily (both human and dog) and is so full of affection. If you’re looking for a fun-loving partner to explore the world with and then to snuggle up with at home, this dog offers the best of both worlds. With a little love and consistency, she’ll make an incredible addition to a lucky home.

Meet Ollie!
Breed: Miniature Golden Doodle
Age: 4 years old
Sex: Male - neutered
Ollie is a 4-year-old neutered male weighing approximately 40 pounds full grown.
Ollie is dog friendly, cat friendly, kid friendly, and overall just a very happy-go-lucky guy that adapts easily to the environment around him.
He was surrendered through no fault of his own after his owner had progressive chronic health issues and could no longer care for him.
Ollie enjoys his daily pack walks with canine friends, does well in the car, and stays close by off leash. He will tolerate being in a crate, although he may bark for the first few minutes when left alone. This is the ONE behaviour that will need some continued work and guidance moving forward. His future home should prioritize teaching healthy independence and boundaries to ensure he does not develop attachment-related behaviours over time.
Overall, he is an easygoing, social dog that simply enjoys being included in life with his people. If you are looking for a versatile, affectionate companion that can fit into almost any lifestyle, this guy may be your perfect match!

Meet Kiwi!
Breed: Bully mix
Age: 2.5 years old
Sex: Female - spayed
Originally from Hawaii, Kiwi has traded island life for the chance to find her forever family. This sweet, affectionate girl absolutely adores her people, and in return is adored by everyone who meets her!
She is dog friendly, kid friendly, rides well in the vehicle, and has not yet been cat tested.
Kiwi loves to be close to humans, demanding affection all day if you let her. As sweet as this is, because of her social, velcro-like nature, any potential adopter will be inquired about their approach to building healthy independence and confidence to help prevent any development of attachment issues. (Currently she displays no separation anxiety, but has clear boundaries in her foster home).
Kiwi is quiet in her crate overnight and when her people are away. She does experience some mild FOMO (fear of missing out) when observing fun from a distance, but is capable of settling within a few minutes.
Given Kiwi's appearance, which is consistent with a bully breed, we are looking for an adopter who takes pride in training, advocacy, and responsible ownership. Bully breeds often face stereotypes, and we would love to see Kiwi in a home that is committed to helping her represent the breed well in the community.
