Meet Jake!
Breed: Black lab
Age: 10 years old
Sex: Male
Jake is a 10‑year‑old Lab mix with a gentle soul and a constantly wagging tail. He came into rescue through no fault of his own and knows nothing but love. He’s an easygoing guy who loves napping, leisurely walks. Jake is working on his leash manners and prefers some freedom to smell the roses along the way. He's people and dog friendly and previously lived with a cat, and may be able to again with slow introductions.
Jake would thrive in a low‑energy, detached home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort. He has some separation anxiety that has improved, but he’s non‑destructive and does well when left loose in the house. If you're home, he will sure to be right by your side.
He’s currently on Apoquel for symptoms of itching and fur loss which have resolved. We've changed his food and he may be able to stop taking Apoquel in the future with support from a veterinarian.
Jake has lived some big changes in the last few weeks and with time, love and patience, he is settling in and proving to be a sweet, gentle, and loving companion. He's looking for a family that has the patience to continue supporting him through these changes and show him the love he deserves in his golden years.

Meet Zeus!
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 5 years old
Sex: Male - neutered
Zeus is a special boy, whom over the last fourth months in care, has really come out of his shell. But it’s time he settle in somewhere permanent.
Currently living in a multi-dog foster home, Zeus has shown that he can thrive in a structured environment. He coexists well with small dogs and has been appropriate with large dogs, though he has shown some discomfort around intact males.
Around the house, Zeus is quiet, low-energy, and incredibly easy to care for. He is fully house-trained, non-destructive, and can be trusted loose in the home or confined to a single room when left alone.
When Zeus first arrived, he was fearful of new people. With time and patience, he has made wonderful progress. He is now neutral around strangers and may quietly approach for affection, but he appreciates people moving at his pace. Slow, calm introductions are important, and fast movements or reaching abruptly for his collar should be avoided until he has built trust.
Zeus would do best in a calm, adult-only home. Ideally, he would have a small, confident canine companion to help continue building his confidence, though the right home is most important.
If you're looking for a low-maintenance companion who enjoys a peaceful lifestyle, Zeus may be the perfect match.
At this time, applicants must be located within the Ottawa area.

Meet Austin!
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 9 months old
Sex: Male -neutered
Originally rescued from the streets of Hawaii alongside his sister Allie and several other dogs, Austin is beginning his journey toward finding a forever family. Austin is medium sized, approximately 35 pounds.
Austin is a fun, bouncy young dog with a wonderfully sweet temperament and an impressive off switch for his age. He is excellent in his crate and has been absolutely bombproof with every dog he has met so far.
He has not yet been tested around cats but we have minimal suspicion for prey drive. (He’s too soft!)
While Austin has so many wonderful qualities, we are proactively searching for the right home because we know he will need continued confidence-building support.
New environments are VERY overwhelming for him. He will follow along on leash in these environments but may freeze and is nervous meeting NEW people. He takes times to warm up. Austin is a soft soul who chooses flight over fight when he feels unsure.
There is not a mean bone in his body, he simply needs patient guidance to help him feel safe and secure in the world.
To set Austin up for long-term success, we are requiring that any approved adopter budget for a minimum of three training sessions with one of our recommended trainers.
** OUR SECOND REQUIREMENT AT THIS TIME IS ANOTHER WELL BALANCED DOG IN THE HOME **
Building confidence is going to be a key part of his development, and we want to ensure both Austin and his future family have the tools they need to succeed.
In the meantime, Austin will continue working on his confidence in foster care while enjoying all the things puppies should: playing, learning, and discovering that the world isn't such a scary place after all.

Meet Ivy!
Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 4 years old
Sex: Female
Ivy is a sweet soul who loves her people deeply and simply wants to be by your side. She’s silly, quirky, and absolutely loves to love.
One of the best things about Ivy is her fierce loyalty to her people. She’s lovely and balanced with other dogs, but she does best with dogs who are similarly balanced and aren’t overly excited or pushy. She’s down for any adventure and loves getting out and exploring, but she isn’t considered a high-energy dog. Off-leash exercise will still be an important part of her life.
Ivy is also an absolute dream in the crate and genuinely loves it.
Like any dog, Ivy has a few things her future family will need to understand. Because she loves her people so deeply, she could very easily develop separation anxiety if healthy boundaries and structure aren’t maintained. She can also be nervous in new environments, but she’s building confidence quickly. With the right family, I have no doubt she’ll continue to grow into a confident, happy dog who can comfortably accompany you through life.
Ivy needs a family who is committed to building her confidence rather than getting pulled into comforting her insecurities. She needs someone who will calmly guide her through new experiences, give her the structure she needs, and love her in a way that allows her to thrive.
She’s the kind of dog who will give you her whole heart and she deserves a family who will help her learn that she doesn’t need to have their attention 100% of the time to feel safe and happy.
Ivy is such a special girl, and I’m so excited to see her find the family she deserves.
Ivy will be fully off-leash trained and have a solid loose-leash walk upon adoption. Her adopters will need to be committed to maintaining the training she has received and continuing to provide her with the structure and consistency she needs.
As part of her adoption, her family must participate in a minimum of two training sessions with her prior to adoption. This is to ensure everyone is on the same page with her training, understand how to communicate with her, and feel confident continuing her training once she goes home. Additional training support will be available if desired.

She has not yet been tested around cats.
She is medium sized, approximately 35 pounds.
While Allie has so many wonderful qualities, we are proactively searching for the right home because we know she will need continued confidence-building support.
New environments can be overwhelming for her, and she can be nervous when meeting new people. She takes time to warm up and build trust. Once she feels comfortable, her playful, sassy personality emerges and she becomes a very entertaining companion.

** OUR SECOND REQUIREMENT AT THIS TIME IS ANOTHER WELL-BALANCED DOG IN THE HOME **
Allie absolutely thrives with canine companionship, and another confident dog will be an important part of her continued growth and success.
Building confidence is going to be a key part of her development, and we want to ensure both Allie and her future family have the tools they need to succeed.
