Meet Tapper!
Breed: Chihuahua/Chinese Crested mix
Age: 10 months
Sex: Male
The name Tapper comes from his gait, that sweet, awkward little rhythm that makes his feet go tap tap, tap tap as he moves. It’s as if he’s lightly drumming the floor with determination and joy.
We don’t know whether his neurological difference is something he was born with or something he acquired due to injury. What we do know is this: he has been seen by a veterinarian.
Bloodwork has been completed and came back within normal limits. We do not believe he is in pain. He urinates and defecates on his own. He has a healthy appetite, though he does need to gain some weight.
Because he appears comfortable and stable, we will not be pursuing advanced diagnostics such as CT or MRI. Budget is certainly a factor — but more importantly, additional imaging would not necessarily change his condition or our approach.
Our focus is on what matters most: his happiness, his comfort, and his quality of life.
Tapper would thrive in a home that understands his needs. *One that doesn’t pity him, but instead sees him for who he truly is: a curious, bright little soul with a few physical limitations.*
He would love nothing more than to join adventures tucked safely in a bag, while also tap-tap-tapping his way around the house. Stairs and jumping are not for him, but flat ground? That’s his runway.
He is not house-trained at this time. He currently lives with both small and large dogs and does well. We anticipate no issues with cats.
Because he is fragile, an adult-only home would be ideal.
He has received his initial vaccines.
Some dogs need saving.
Some dogs need fixing.
Tapper needs someone who sees him, not as a limitation, but as a life worth loving.

Meet Hanna!
Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: 2 years old
Sex: Female (will be spayed in future)
Meet Hanna, the clever and affectionate companion who is ready to find her forever home! Hanna is the perfect blend of "smart" and "sweet," characterized by her high intelligence and a heart that truly lives to make her people happy. She is an absolute dream for anyone who enjoys a dog that listens well and picks up new skills in a heartbeat. Because she is both a fast learner and highly motivated by her love of food, training her is a breeze; she’s always looking for the next "good girl" and a tasty reward to earn.
When it comes to home life, Hanna is fully housetrained and crate trained. She is a natural social butterfly who thrives on human connection. If you’re looking for an activity partner, look no further—Hanna is a total natural at fetch and will happily chase a ball AND bring it back!
Hanna brings a spirited energy to her social interactions. While she gets along well with others, she tends to be "chatty" and vocal during play with other dogs. She likes to narrate the fun she's having, so she would be a perfect fit for a family that enjoys her expressive personality or has playmates who don't mind a little extra commentary during a game of tag. If you are looking for a loyal, athletic, and brainy best friend, Hanna is waiting to meet you.
Hanna has not been tested around cats.
